Dramatic Play Centre

 

The students have become bored with the birthday centre and did not know what it should be next. So I made the decision to have it be a Pizza Store. This will encourage the students to write orders, make purchases and give out change. The students will use play dough to make pizza and I also had a few wooden puzzle pieces and some felt pieces.

 

I have many of the creative materials that I knew the students would not be using packed up to go to Sheridan Park, but I will look for some sentence strips and some tissue paper in order to make some chef hats.

 

The centre will not change again for this year. If you have anything you can add to our centre that would be wonderful. The more materials the more exciting the centre becomes and then it generates more interaction and learning experiences for the students.

Kindergarten Class Trip June 12th

 

Just a reminder that Thursday June 12th is our class trip. Unfortunately we will not be leaving the school until about 9:30 but I must do the attendance before we can leave. Therefore the students will have a little bit of play time with Lego, small blocks and a few other things that are quick to be tidied up. I think that when the students are playing I will be able to meet with the parents. Many of you will only have your own child but will be placed in groups.

 

I wanted to remind all volunteers and students to be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and to bring a snack and a lunch.

 

If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to ask me and I will try to answer them. This should be a fun day!

June 9 - June 13

 

This is a busy week for the kindergarten students. Monday and Tuesday are regular days. Then Wednesday is a big day for it is the SK Graduation. I ask all afternoon  Sk students to be brought to the classroom for 10:30 sharp and all morning and afternoon parents, and other family members to go to the gym and sit on the chairs that are provided.

 

The SK's students and morning JK's will arrive in the gym shortly after 10:30. They will sing a couple of songs and read a poem and then we will continue with the rest of the ceremony.

 

After the ceremony the afternoon students will go home and then return for their regular class at 12:50. The morning students are welcomed to go home too. This is a big moment for the SK's students and Meadowvale because this will be the last graduation being held at this school.
